How to muzzle a dog..

Picture

As mentioned in several previous posts a distressed animal may act out of character meaning it could cause you or itself an injury. If you do not have a muzzle to hand for a dog you can quickly and easily fashion one with a lead or a bandage.

NEVER MUZZLE A DOG WITH FACIAL TRAUMA OR BREATHING PROBLEMS.

• Approach the dog from behind.
• Place the material under the lower jaw and tie in a knot over the upper jaw.
• Bring the two ends back down underneath the lower jaw and bring these around the back of the head.
• Tie in a knot to fasten the muzzle in place.
Make sure it is not fastened too tight but tight enough to prevent the dog being able to bite.
